  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter (for brushing)

  • Cooked bacon bits

  • Jalapeños or banana peppers

  • Diced ham or chicken

  • Caramelized onions or mushrooms

  • Spinach or olives

For Topping:

  • egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp garlic powder + parsley flakes for garnish

🔪 Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Cook the Filling

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil.

  2. Cook ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula until browned.

  3. Add onions (and peppers, if using) and cook until soft, about 3–4 minutes.

  4. Drain excess grease.

  5. Stir in pizza sauceItalian seasoninggarlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  6. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly — this prevents the dough from getting soggy.

3. Assemble the Garbage Bread

  1. On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle (about 10×14 inches).

  2. Spread the cooled meat mixture evenly over the dough, leaving about 1 inch of border around the edges.

  3. Sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

  4. Add any extra toppings (pepperoni, bacon, etc.) evenly over the filling.

4. Roll It Up

  • Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log, just like a jelly roll.

  • Pinch the seam and the ends to seal it shut so the cheese doesn’t leak out.

  • Carefully place it seam-side down on the baking sheet.
