Ingredients:
-
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
-
2 tsp instant yeast
-
1 ½ tsp salt
-
1 ½ cups (360 ml) warm water (about 40°C / 105°F)
-
1 tbsp sugar (optional, helps yeast activate)
-
1 tbsp oil (optional, for softer texture)
Instructions:
-
Activate Yeast (optional):
In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over it and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
(If using instant yeast, you can skip this step and mix it directly with the flour.) -
Mix the Dough:
Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir with a spoon or spatula until everything is combined. The dough will be sticky — that’s perfect! No kneading needed. -
First Rise:
Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. -
Shape the Dough:
Lightly dust your hands and work surface with flour. Shape the dough into a round or oval loaf and place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or into a loaf pan. -
Second Rise:
Let the dough rest again for 20–30 minutes while you preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). -
Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped. -
Cool:
Let the bread cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
