Whenever I prepare this recipe, the house smells like heaven. This recipe is a winner

  1. Step 1: Prep & Preheat: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar. Add the pumpkin and oil, and mix well until combined.
  4. Step 4: Mix Batter: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Mix in the water.
  5. Step 5: Fold & Pour: Fold in the chopped walnuts and raisins (if using). Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Step 6: Bake: Bake for 60-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Step 7: Cool & Serve: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy! Store leftovers airtight at room temperature or in the fridge
