  1. Combine & Press: Immediately pour the hot mixture over the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until the cereal is evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and use a greased spatula to press it into a flat, even layer.
  2. Make the Topping: Add the 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips and 1 cup of butterscotch chips to a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until the chips are fully melted and smooth.
  3. Finish & Cool: Pour the melted chips evenly over the pressed cereal base and spread into an even layer with a spatula. Allow the bars to fully cool and set before slicing and serving.
