Patty Melt with Secret Sauce
Instructions
1️⃣ Shape the Patties
Divide the ground beef into three even portions and press each one into a patty that matches the size of your rye bread slices.
2️⃣ Season the Beef
Sprinkle both sides of each patty with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
3️⃣ Cook the Patties
Warm a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties until fully done. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
4️⃣ Mix the Secret Sauce
Combine the mayonnaise, bacon bits, ketchup, sugar, and relish in a small bowl. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
5️⃣ Build the Patty Melts
Wipe the skillet clean and lower the heat to medium.
Butter one side of each bread slice.
Place three slices buttered-side down in the skillet.
Layer each with provolone, a cooked patty, and cheddar cheese.
6️⃣ Add the Sauce
Spread the secret sauce on the unbuttered side of the remaining bread slices, then place them sauce-side down over the cheese-topped patties.
7️⃣ Toast and Finish
Cook until the bottom slices are crisp and golden and the cheese begins to melt.
Flip carefully and toast the other side until beautifully browned.
Serve immediately while hot and gooey.
